Oak Lodge School is looking for a Lead Teacher for Science & Technology to shape hands‑on learning for students with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. With small classes, strong multidisciplinary support and 1 day a week for leadership, it’s the perfect next step in your career.
Personal attributes
The ideal candidate will be an experienced, hands‑on science and technology teacher with QTS and recent SEND‑focused professional development, bringing strong experience working with learners with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs in special or specialist settings. They will be skilled in adapting curriculum and resources, creating person‑centred learning plans, supporting regulation, and collaborating effectively with families and external agencies. They will have strong knowledge of differentiation, sensory and communication needs, SEND legislation, assessment for learning, and accreditation pathways, with excellent communication, organisation and record‑keeping skills. Personally, they will be empathetic, patient, resilient and committed to inclusive practice, able to motivate students and staff, work flexibly, uphold safeguarding, embrace feedback, and show enthusiasm for their subject and continuous professional growth, with a readiness to develop as a middle leader.
Salary & Benefits
Salary from £46800 to £56154 per year
