Preparation for Adulthood Lead Teacher, Oak Lodge School, Sept 26

Overview

Oak Lodge School is seeking a Preparation for Adulthood Lead Teacher to drive our strategy across employment, independent living, community participation and health. You’ll lead work experience, employer partnerships, transition planning and life‑skills curriculum, coaching colleagues to embed PfA across the school. Ideal for an experienced SEND teacher with strong collaboration, communication and person‑centred practice, ready to make a real impact on young people’s futures.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient and deeply committed to improving outcomes for young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, bringing high expectations for every learner and a strong belief in their potential. They will inspire and motivate students and colleagues alike, celebrating small steps and fostering confidence, independence and meaningful progress. With a collaborative and approachable leadership style, they will adapt flexibly to students’ needs, remain calm and resilient under pressure, and model inclusive, person‑centred practice. They will uphold safeguarding and confidentiality at all times, embody the values of Oak Lodge School and Barnet Special Education Trust, and communicate effectively with families, professionals and external partners. A proactive learner themselves, they will stay current with SEND best practice, welcome feedback, and show enthusiasm for developing both their subject expertise and leadership skills. 

Salary & Benefits

Salary from £46800 to £56154 per year plus SEN Allowance and TLR
