Overview

The Windmill School is a new 90 place special school for autistic pupils aged 5-19 with an educational health and care plan. At the Windmill School, strengths, difference, and positive autistic identity are celebrated. We are currently seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic Primary SEN Teacher for Autumn Term 2024 (or sooner for the right candidate). The successful applicant will demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the primary National Curriculum and we are also keen to hear from any subject specialists. We are particularly looking for enthusiastic, versatile, resilient, and committed classroom practitioners able to work as part of a team with strong core values for inclusion.

 Requirements and responsibilities

  • Candidates with UK Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalence and experience or qualifications in teaching pupils with special educational needs including autism.
  • Experienced and energetic practitioners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment and monitoring systems that drive meaningful outcomes.
  • To follow our principles and pedagogy which contribute to the ethos of the Trust, underpinned by the Social Communication Emotional Regulation Transactional Support framework. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • A child centred approach with pupil well-being at the core of this work

Salary & Benefits

Salary from £34514 to £51179 per year

The Windmill School uses an approach taken from the SCERTS Framework. If SCERTS is a new approach to you, we will provide full training and development.
